There is a special place (4 locations) in Austin Texas that I tell everyone about. Believe it or not, it’s a pharmacy.

But their tagline “more than a pharmacy” is precisely WHY I love them so much. They ARE more than a pharmacy. Whether you live in Austin and want to continue to support local or you’re visiting Austin and you want to see some of the gems of this city… go to People’s Rx. You won’t be disappointed. And I’m about to give you 10 reasons why you’ll love this place. (I knew we are all fans of the bullet point articles here!)

When People’s Rx reached out for a partnership (fast forward- we are partners!!) I closed my laptop and said to Dan, “You’ll never believe who reached out to me for a potential partnership.” He said, “Who?” I tell him, “Think of a dream partnership I would have that is local to Austin.” He said, “….People’s Rx?” I said yes! People’s Rx!! And we both just smiled. We love that place so much.

I feel once you get to know People’s Rx- they will be a staple for you too. :)

1. People’s Rx has been around for 40 years. They are family-owned and ran. We often talk about supporting local and keeping quirky Austin— quirky. Going to People’s Rx for your wellness needs is a way to keep this part of Austin alive! You know big brand soulless pharmacies do nothing for Austin culture. People’s Rx does.

2. People’s Rx has long been a supporter of local Austin brands. In fact, many local Austin brands get their start in retail AT People’s Rx! Brands like Credo, Zellies, etc have gotten their start there. People’s is ALWAYS lifting up local Austin.

3. The vitamins and supplements in their wellness section are high quality and offer SO much variety. They go through a LOT to vet these companies. And btw, if you’re not in Austin, you can shop their store online as well!

4. People’s Rx is an amazing place to go if you want to talk to someone about your health stuff going on. The people working in their wellness section have such vast, beautiful, intelligent backgrounds. There you will find people with backgrounds such as Chinese Medicine, sports medicine, herbalism, western medicine, functional medicine, etc. They have SO much wisdom to offer and they genuinely care about you getting a tailored plan of action for XYZ. I told you the story on IG of the woman who stayed on the phone with me for 20 minutes when I was first diagnosed with Hashimotos. This place is so special.

5. Their pharmacy is a compounding pharmacy! So nice to know there is a place to get those more complicated prescriptions filled. And when you go in it’s such a joyous, cozy experience. Again, the opposite of what you would get at one of those big box chain pharmacies.

6. Their marketing/behind-closed-doors staff is SO amazing. They put so much heart and soul into People’s Rx and do so much to get involved in the Austin community. Pop-ups, an entire booth at ACL music festival, special events, etc. These are people who are so driven by the People’s Rx mission. And you can feel it in their messaging! Everything is personal to them, which I find SO refreshing!

7. People’s Rx has such amazing food. And let me just say, because I know so many of you have food sensitivities like me, they cater to this crowd. High quality. Allergen-friendly the majority of the time. If you are ever driving and you need a snack or a quick meal and you don’t want to sacrifice quality- these People’s Rx stores are stocked!! And you know how I feel about their amazing chicken salad. ;)

8. They have GREAT juice!! If you are a juice gal and you’re going for that cold-pressed, ORGANIC goodness… you gotta try People’s juices. My favorite is their beets one. Dan’s favorite is their green juices- which they have a few!

9. They have a really great People’s Rx perks program. You just type in your number when checking out and now and then you hear, “You have $5 off!” Or “You have $2 off!” Etc. And it’s just exciting because who doesn’t love rewards/points haha.

10. People’s Rx embodies cozyness, people feeling welcome, Austin, quality, care, FUN… all of these things. You go in feeling excited, you leave feeling cared for. It’s the type of place you want to go back to again and again.
