Three tips for more efficient thrifting

Thrifting is so fun!!! But can feel “inefficient” or stressful for some.
But these three tips will help you thrift more efficiently!
My credentials: About 80% or more of my wardrobe is, and has always been, from thrifting. Especially Goodwill! I have been thrifting since I was a little girl with my Mom.
I LOVE the art and lifestyle of thrifting. It is by far my favorite hobby and I am good at it!
I believe anyone can be good at it! As long as you have a little patience and you’re cool with second-hand clothes. TOTALLY fine if not your thing!
But if you want to give it more of a shot— these are my top 3 tips strictly for efficiency.
Tip 1. Narrow down if you are short on time. Pick THREE categories of which you would like to find something. Could be shorts, sweatshirts, and shoes. Could be jeans, purses, and long maxi dresses.
Thrift stores can be overwhelming and they are almost ALWAYS divided by category (and often size! Or color.)
Try to commit to 5-10 min per category! More if needed.
Tip 2. Go during OFF hours. Saturdays are almost always packed. It’s usually not the best day. Sunday CAN be busy not usually not near as busy as Saturdays. Lunch breaks during the week are PERFECT times for a thrift run (and then you get some walking in too!) and also— evenings. At lot of Goodwills are open until EIGHT PM! Take advantage!!
Also personally I love Monday and Tuesday thrifts because I think of all the cool stuff people donated over the weekend ;)
Tip 3. Figure out what colors look BEST on you. Because so many Goodwills (and other thrift stores) are color organized— you can go straight to YOUR colors.
For instance- I do not look my best in grays, whites, and blacks. Not to say I don’t wear those… but why would I load my closet up with colors that don’t benefit me most?
I know I personally do best in greens, purples, reds, oranges. And overall— more warmer tones. Knowing this IMMEDIATELY cuts down on time for me! I don’t waste time in the blacks, grays, and whites section.
