How I Increased My Progesterone (By A Lot!!)

First off, this is not medical advice! We are just two gals sharing our experiences gabbing k. :) Also, my naturopath, functional practitioner and acupuncturist (and *kind of* my endocrinologist) helped me with this protocol. Needless to say it did work for me.

I needed to get my progesterone up and I was able to do just that.

The first thing I did was go on Chasteberry/ Vitex. This helped me a LOT. I did 225 mg a day and this has been a huge help in getting my progesterone up. Some experts like it for the first half of your cycle to ovulation. Some experts say take it daily until a positive pregnancy test. I take it daily. The former method is more conservative.

You know what I really think made the ultimate difference? I made a really conscious, very stern decision that I was going to do the most I had ever done in my life to help my body react to stress in a more positive way. A lot of things have happened this year. I’m busier than I’ve ever been with my business and yet I’m dealing with stress better than I ever have in my LIFE and that has helped my progesterone levels. Stress and progesterone go hand in hand and it simply cannot be ignored if you want to get your progesterone up. I mean even look at what western medicine says about progesterone. What’s one of the number one things that they say? Manage stress more effectively. 

Of course I had mental and emotional techniques in place. Prayer, behavioral change, etc.

But besides that— Number one thing that I did for stress was I got on a pretty serious CBD regimen. I would reach that point in the day where things are starting to constrict. I’m just starting to get a little bit short. I can feel stress bubbling up. I would pop a CBD gummy (code KATEY). EASED. My gummy also had Reishi extract, Ashwagandha root and L-theanine in it. SO SO effective. 

Basically I was supplementing with things that were highly nourishing for my HPA access. Harsh reality is, if you don’t have something in place to help you with stress your progesterone can suffer. 

I also take my sleep very seriously.
