Skincare truths I live by

Everyone has beliefs they know to be true about their skin. These are some of mine.
1. Nothing compares to tretinoin for me. Good ole retinoids. Some people have a hard time tolerating it after the 8-12 week adjustment period. Most people will do just fine with it. MY SKIN looks the way it looks at 36— big time because of tret. It’s the most studied. The proven to be efficacious. Strongest. I am a big believer in it. Amazing for fine lines, skin turnover, acne, scars, evenness of skin, etc.
2. Sunscreen everyday. And reapplying throughout the day. I wear sunscreen on my face, neck, chest and hands. I apply sunscreen 2-3X a day. More if I am out in the blazing sun all day. For my body I let myself get sun, and then I apply some sunscreen. But usually what I do is let my full body get sun and then switch into clothes that cover my body (like linen in the summer) because I don’t love sunscreen all over my body. Face, neck etc I don’t mind and even enjoy it! Like US tinted mineral sunscreens look so beautiful on the skin.
3. Fascia work and working on the structure of my face is a game changer. When I am consistent I feel a heck of a lot more beautiful I’ll tell you that. Working on your fascia, bloodflow and lymph is one of the best beauty practices one will ever do. Of course we will always have expression lines (and honestly— I love and celebrate them), but working on these areas will do wonders in softening the lines and giving subtle lifts.
4. Antioxidant serum is such a beautiful canvas for making the face look bright and alive in the morning. I prefer Herbal Face Food and have used it for years. I started at Youth Serum 1. The formulation is AMAZING. One of the BEST if not THEE BEST on the antioxidant ORAC scale. It’s very important to protect your skin against daily oxidative stress! An antioxidant serum (also could be a Vit C) does the trick.
5. Sugar/ food sensitivities will impact your skin- so figure those out! I know sugar makes me break out. I know it makes me retain more (very visible in the face) fluid. I still have sugar sometimes but I am aware there can be consequences.
