What I do when I get too much sun

I am for getting sun. I am NOT for getting too much sun!! But sometimes it happens.
So THIS… is what I like to do when it happens. It’s my non-professional opinion and the advice I give my girlfriends when they text me that they got burned or got too much sun. Because every single summer I get this text or call!
#1 red light therapy - If I get too much sun one of the first things I am doing is getting under a red light. (Recs of mine are the Omnilux Mask and Lightpath Panel) Red light is fantastic at wound healing and you need to consider a sunburn a wound- because it is! Studies on red light and bringing down inflammation are undeniable.
There have been a few times where I’ve been like “Dang, this might turn into a burn” and I get under a red light and no burn!
Red light is also great at stimulating collagen production. What does too much sun do? Break down collagen!
If you don’t want to invest in a red light, you should know if any of your friends have one that you can use for a day OR find a place in town that offers red light where you can book a session.
#2 SNAIL MUCIN. I love this one by Cosrx. This so good for soothing and repairing the skin. The ingredients are MINIMAL and have been shown to be GREAT at wound healing— again, too much sun is technically a wound to the skin! I love snail mucin to help with barrier nourishment and repair.
If you are allergic to dust mites though, snail mucin might not be your thing! They have found a correlation between the two.
Enjoy the sun but have a plan incase you get too much!!
